YouGov Shopper Mobility Monitor: survey platform for travel and mobility research

Challenge

The Mobility Monitor, known to YouGov Shopper participants as a regular survey on mobility behavior, provides organizations and companies in the travel and tourism industry with in-depth insights into travel volume and travel behavior among people in Germany – ranging from day trips to vacation trips both domestically and abroad.

It is based on a monthly survey conducted among a representative panel. Relevant questionnaires are reliably made available month after month; tens of thousands of participants are invited to respond, and the results are delivered in a clean format for analysis.

Solution

Since 2011, we have been developing and maintaining the survey platform behind the Mobility Monitor based on Ruby on Rails and Angular.

This platform covers the management of questionnaires and the export of results data for further analysis.

Result

Approximately 20,000 participants are surveyed regularly via the platform.

For 15 years, we have been continuously maintaining and developing this platform – with hundreds of versions, including during the transition from GfK Consumer Panel Services to YouGov Shopper.
